Pool Heating System

Pool heating systems are designed to extend the swimming season by maintaining comfortable water temperatures, especially during cooler weather. Solar pool heaters use energy from the sun to heat the pool water. They consist of solar collectors (typically mounted on the roof) and a pump to circulate water through the collectors. Heat pumps extract heat from the air or ground and transfer it to the pool water. They work similarly to air conditioning units in reverse. Electricity is used to power the heat pump, but it is more energy-efficient compared to traditional electric heaters. Gas pool heaters use natural gas or propane to heat the pool water. They have a combustion chamber where the gas is burned to generate heat. Electric resistance heaters use electrical resistance to generate heat. They are less common due to their high operating costs. Pool covers, while not heating systems, can help retain heat by preventing heat loss through evaporation. They also protect the pool from debris.
